Ball Kids Bounce Balls for Charity

Bounce-a-thonDubai, UAE, March 1st, 2007: The ball kids at the Dubai Tennis Championships took part in the fourth annual Bounce-a-thon to raise money for the Dubai Duty Free Foundation.

Led by defending doubles titlists Paul Hanley of Australia and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe, the ball kids from the Clark Francis Tennis Academy were sponsored to continuously bounce tennis balls for 45 minutes on Centre Court.

“I think it’s a great event where we’re helping charity,” said 12-year-old Amay Bhojani, who was partaking in his second Bounce-a-thon. “It was fun and it felt good helping the kids by donating money so they could buy more materials so they could learn.”

“It was very tiring,” admitted Aman Ghose, 14, “but it’s raising money for a good cause.”

The Dubai Duty Free Foundation was launched in 2004 and was established under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation.
